I’d like to show you how AI is not just the future of marketing, but is already here and being widely applied. It’s an area I’m really excited about, so, I’m giving you a little preview of a short video series I am putting together on the use of artificial intelligence in marketing. How AI Can Optimise Your Social Media Strategy

There is no doubt that social media has become the main promotional channel for a lot of businesses across many industries. Brands must work harder than ever on social media in order to get noticed over and above their competitors as well as the sponsored viral content out there offering entertainment value to users. This is why building a brand’s visual vocabulary is important if you want to make your social media stand out.

Artificial intelligence can provide a competitive advantage when it comes to social media creative strategy. AI can easily audit a year or two’s worth of data from your own social media posts and those of your top competitors and gain unbiased insights on how to stand out on social.

The AI analyses thousands upon thousands of posts across multiple social media accounts in a matter of hours and provides statistically significant findings that give direction on what your social media creative should and should not look like and what the copy should and should not say, if you are to differentiate from others in your industry.

Example of some of the themes the AI looks at are:● Image trends across your industry● Hashtag performance● Aspect ratio and how it impacts performance● Emojis and their impact● Colour analysis● Country differences● And more

We’ve seen results of a 38% increase in engagement from this analysis. When I talk about social media AI, a lot of people think more about the practical aspects of publishing posts. So, I can't finish the video without mentioning a couple of AI tools in that area. The first is HelloWoofy which is a browser-based publishing tool, and Inksprout which is a Chrome extension that currently has a lifetime deal on AppSumo. So, they are definitely both worth checking out.

Hello and welcome to video 3 in this Marketing AI in Action series. Today I’m going to briefly talk about how AI is being used to optimise digital advertising campaigns and deliver better ROI, so if that sounds like it could be useful to you then stick around...

Google and Microsoft have been using artificial intelligence to optimise their ad campaigns for up to 3 years now, so perhaps the use of AI in advertising is not new to some of you. Google’s AI, however, looks at its own campaign performance but if the Bing campaign is performing better it's not going to distribute more budget towards Microsoft. That’s where cross-platform AI optimisation comes in.

Cross-platform AI manages your ad budget and bid strategy across your entire campaign and across all platforms including search, display, and social. It looks at where you are getting your most efficient clicks and conversions, whatever your goal may be, and optimises the campaign in real-time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by adjusting the bids, overall budgets, audience targeting, and time of day your ads are served. You won’t find a human who can work 24/7, and certainly not one who can analyse data across a number of platforms and make adjustments to campaign strategy in the blink of an eye.

While there are added costs associated with using AI technology, the combination of timesaving coupled with a higher return on ad spend means you can reinvest budget back into the campaign or more on strategy.

Another area where AI is having an impact when it comes to advertising is copywriting. AI can help draft high-performing, quality ad copy quickly with little effort. We use a couple of AI tools – Copysmith and Writesonic – that can write Facebook ads, Instagram ads, LinkedIn ads, Twitter ads, and search engine ads between them. Machine learning enables the AI’s to adapt to style, reducing the number of human edits needed over time.

So, that’s a brief overview of how AI technology is disrupting advertising right now and it’s exciting to think about what it will be capable of in another 3 years’ time. How AI Can Help Your SEO Strategy

Hello and welcome. In this video I’m going to talk about how AI can help optimise your website for search engines. If your business relies on organic traffic and you are looking for a structured approach to SEO, then AI might be the answer for you.

While traditional SEO audits still provide very good guidance on what to do to improve the SEO ‘score’ of a website, they do not really know which optimisations are going to make the most impact. As such, it can take a lot of experience to learn which SEO tasks will make the biggest gains. Search engine results are based on algorithms and through machine learning, AI can make attempts to understand how these algorithms work – reverse engineer them – and what makes websites rank. It can then tell you exactly what you need to do to rank higher.

SEO can be a daunting task as you can often wonder where to start, but AI can provide more structure to what needs to be done and in what order. AI will scan a website and, depending on the keywords or goals you set, make a list of SEO objectives and tasks to complete, plus it also gives an indication of the expected gains in traffic you will get by completing each task. While ‘low hanging fruit’ tasks can be tempting, you might decide to focus on something else when you realise the potential increase in traffic or sales is significantly higher.

Not only does AI help generate technical on-site and on-page SEO tasks, but it can also suggest keywords to rank for. AI helps with off-site SEO too, by identifying backlink and outreach opportunities to help you rank higher.
