AdStage released their Q3 2019 paid media performance report recently. Here is a short summary of the data converted to Euros.
Search engine advertising had the best click through rates (CTR) but a high cost per thousand (CPM) impressions.
Microsoft outperformed Google in CTR but had a higher cost per click (CPC).
Facebook and Twitter ads provided good value with a mid-level CTR and low CPC.
LinkedIn continued to performed poorly with a very high CPC and low CTR.
An efficient PPC strategy would look to include Google Search, Bing, Facebook and Twitter, however this could depend on your target audience and industry.
